Experienced project manager, research planner, agricultural researcher, and geographer with three decades of experience working with and in developing countries to improve the livelihood of smallholder farmers.
I enjoy working with innovative approaches to rural development, creating synergy between researchers, farmers and NGOs in the fields of bio-fuels, agro-forestry, and agriculture.
Mastering and understanding multiple disciplines and finding solutions that will lead to results under difficult circumstances in the field are my forte. I am good at connecting the dots.
I have worked with these themes while employed by universities, donors, NGOs, international research institutions and as a consultant. Africa is my stomping ground, having lived there for more than 20 years.
With a PhD in Agricultural Geography I have a solid background in agricultural research but have over the years developed skills in research and project management, GIS (in particular with Open Source Software) and Internet technologies.
