Mariët, trained as an economist at Wageningen University, has a broad interest in economic and social interactions between consumers and food and agri and how these interactions impact daily life decisions and  economic activities.

In her research, she focusses on consumer choice behaviour and supply chains in the field of food and agri . Linking the complexity of today’s food systems with daily life decisions is an important common thread.
