Dr. Jaap Sok studied agricultural economics at Wageningen University. He started his PhD in August 2012 at the chair group Business Economics. His research involved the mapping of motives of dairy farmers to vaccinate their herd in a situation of a disease epidemic, in a policy context based on a neoliberal model of cost and responsibility sharing. In February 2014, he was appointed as a lecturer, and has taught courses in business economics and management accounting since. As of January 2018, he has started as an assistant professor at the same chair group. In his empirical research he combines psychology with economics, and studies decision making and behaviour of farmers in different contexts.
