I am a tropical forest ecologist at Alterra, Wageningen UR with strong expertise in the field of sustainable use of natural resources. My research interests include studies of interactions between land-use, climate change and ecosystem services and biodiversity. I work on a broad range of policy support projects and assessments related to sustainable use of natural resources on climate change mitigation and adaptation and on competing claims on natural resources.
 

Currently I am strongly involved in projects related to carbon stock assessments for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) and I am leading the working group responsible for reporting Dutch emissions from Land use, Land-use Change and Forestry to the UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol.
