Karel de Greef (1963, PhD Animal Science 1992) was active in several disciplines related to pig production (a.o. animal nutrition, breeding, housing & welfare). For about ten years he was member of the systems innovation group, working on initiatives  combining scientific disciplines with stakeholder participation, targetting societally relevant problems in the animal domain (the RIO-approach). Currently, he is member of the Animal Breeding and Genomics Centre of Wageningen University and Research Centre. Main activities concern projects in the Pig and Rabbit sector, analysis of systems innovation trajectories and initiatives on data utilisation in animal prodcution chains.
