Projects

The degree of resilience of food systems determines how well they can withstand or adapt to shocks. This project aims at operationalizing resilience in the context of the Ghanaian food system. This is achieved by combining socioeconomic indicators derived from the literature and applying quantitative methods to measure food system resilience, using nationally representative household panel and cross-sectional data. Econometric and structural equation modelling are used to analyse factors that influence food system resilience, with specific focus on markets and infrastructure. We expect to identify reliable indicators and key drivers of food system resilience that could help to inform policies and actions intended at managing food systems.
