Biography

Dr Otto Hospes investigates politics and governance of global value value chains, with a particular focus on the role of public authorities. He is particularly interested in politics on sustainable palm oil and has extensively conducted research and theorized on governance interactions between the Indonesian government and other actors on this controversial issue. He is a former senior evaluator at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has extensive experience in coordinating large interdisciplinary PhD research programs on global value chains (otto.hospes@wur.nl).
