PhD candidate researching the idea of autonomy in different agricultural systems. The research investigates the roles of autonomy and alternative agriculture practices in improving food and livelihood security of marginalised small farmers. It does so by studying socio-material relations of production of organic and conventional (Green Revolution) farmers in the Philippines. The social construction of technology and agricultural technology policies are central topics. Two Wageningen chair groups are involved: Rural Sociology (www.rso.wur.nl) and Knowledge, Technology and Innovation. (www.wur.nl/kti).

MSc degree in International Development Studies, from Wageningen University. Specialization in anthropology of technology to study relationships between farmers, farming practices, and livelihoods.

The research project is funded through the WASS Open Round 2017; research costs are covered by a PhD research grant from the Neys-van Hoogstraten Foundation (PH319).
