Biografie

Monique Nuijten works in the field of social, political and legal anthropology. She published on state-peasant relations in Mexico and Peru. Her current research focuses on ‘contested urban space and political energy at the grassroots’, looking at the expression of political agency and the shaping of citizenhip in Brazil and Spain.
