IoF2020

Within the IoF2020 project (http://www.iof2020.eu) that run from 2016 to 2020, I coordinate the Meat Transparency and Traceability use case (https://www.iof2020.eu/trials/meat/meat-transparency-and-traceability). The main objective of thee use case enhancing transparency and traceability of meat across the entire supply chain using an IT solution that is based on the EPCIS standard. EPCIS is an international traceability standard widely used in the manufacturing industry. The use case will co-innovate with partner organisations from the meat industry and introduce a modern transparency and traceability solution to the meat sector.

FIspace

Future Internet Business Collaboration Networks in Agri-Food, Transport & Logistics: fispace.eu

FIspace (https://www.fispace.eu) was a European Commission funded project (FP7-2012-ICT-FI) conducted from 2014 to 2016. The project resulted in the FIspace business-to-business (B2B) collaboration platform. The platform works like a social network, like LinkedIn or Facebook but for the Agri-Food and , Transport & Logistics business sectors.

The project also consisted of a number of trails from the diverse agri-food and logistics sectors. Within the meat trail I developed a software system architecture for realizing a meat transparency system (https://www.fispace.eu/apps.html#meat-information-provenance).

Project SCALE

SCALE (Step Change in Agri-Food Logistics Ecosystems) is project funded by European Commission’s Interreg program and was conducted from 2012 to 2015 (http://www.effp.com/project-scale/). Project SCALE aimed to increase economic competitiveness and at the same time improve environmental and social sustainability of food and drink supply chain logistics across North West Europe. The project delivered a number of tools and frameworks that the agri-food sector can use to secure a step change in operational practices to improve the efficiency and sustainability of food and drink logistics throughout the supply chain. Within this project I developed a sustainability business model canvas in collaboration with colleagues from DHL and EFFP. The business canvas and tools were piloted across a range of food networks to demonstrate how the new framework can deliver real commercial benefits.

SAF

Smart Agri Food (SAF, http://smartagrifood.com/) was a European Commission FP7 funded project conducted from 2011 and 2013. The SAF was funded in the first rounds of the three rounds Future Internet (FI) program. It FI accelerator project that tasked web entrepreneurs and SMEs to define new and innovative ideas for applying smart, Internet-based ICT solution to farm and wider agricultural use.

Within this project, I identified new methods of using ICT solutions for realising transparency in the meat supply chain and defined the requirements for realizing them with the help of FI-ware technologies in the context of the TTAM (Tracking and Tracing of Meat ) pilot.
