Gabriela Iacobuta is currently a PhD candidate and research assistant at Wageningen University & Research, in the Netherlands, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Niklas Höhne and Prof. Dr. Rik Leemans. Her research focus is climate mitigation policies in the G20 countries and the impact of these policies on other development areas, linking action to meet the Paris Agreement to the broader Agenda 2030. One major project Gabriela is invoved in is 'Linking Climate and Development Policies - Leveraging International Networks and Knowledge Sharing' (CD-LINKS, www.cd-links.org).
Previous to her current position, Gabriela was an intern at UNFCCC, UNU-EHS, NewClimate Institute, and other organizations. Gabriela holds two master's degrees from Wageningen University & Research, one in Environmental Sciences and one in Climate Studies, with specializations in Environmental Economics and Environmental Systems Analysis, respectively. Her undergraduate education was in Physics, holding a BSc Hons degree from Nottingham University in the United Kingdom.
