Jessica Duncan, Associate Professor in the Politics of Food Systems Transformations, is a researcher and educator committed to social justice.

Her research focuses on participation in food governance processes and the possibilities food policies provide (or limit) for just and sustainable food systems transformation.

She holds a PhD in Food Policy from City University London and is the author of the book Global Food Security Governance: Civil society engagement in the reformed Committee on World Food Security (Routledge, 2015).

She has also co-edited The Handbook for Sustainable and Regenerative Food Systems (2021) and Sustainable Food Futures: Multidisciplinary Solutions (2017)

In 2017 she was awarded Teacher of the Year for Wageningen University. She was shortlisted again in 2018 and 2019 and longlisted in 2020. With the funding she received for these awards she launched a story-telling training series to help students learn to tell the stories that matter to them.
