Trained as a microbial ecologist and physiologist on microbial cycling of elements (C, N, S) in Nijmegen (NL) and at the ETH in Zurich (CH), I am eager to study the role of microbes in plant health and disease. As our knowledge of this complex network of interactions between microbes and their environment is often limited, integration of microbial solutions into agricultural strategies is only happening at a small scale, yet the potential that lies there is enormous.
We aim at a data-driven, informed application of microbes, tweaking of microbial systems and supression of pathogens as integral, dynamic components of agricultural strategies for a sustainable agriculture.
