Marieke is a junior lecturer and (landscape) designer at the Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning group at Wageningen University. During her years as a student (BSc. and MSc.), she intentionally gathered a broad interdisciplinary network within the fields of landscape architecture, architecture, and urbanism. The experiences gained motivated her to educate and inspire others on sustainable novelties regarding (preferably large-scale) landscape design and/or passive architectural interventions.
 
Examples are her participation and presidential role within the design team of Team Kas during the Urban Greenhouse Challenge 2019-2020 (Global Second Place) and her experience as a student assistant (2021), from which she gained the opportunity to remain at the Wageningen Architecture as a Junior Lecturer from 2022 on.
