THE OVERALL EVALUATION OF HEALTHY FUTURES NEARBY

Families with lower socio-economic background have higher chance of being less healthy and are thus more vulnerable. In the course of four years, starting spring 2016, a range of interventions is implemented to promote health and wellbeing of disadvantaged families in the Netherlands. The scope of these interventions, collected under and supported by the Fonds NutsOhra programme ‘Healthy Futures Nearby’ is either inter-sectoral or is defined by a community setting. All interventions aim to reduce inequalities in health. In the overall evaluation the combined effects of the interventions and underlying mechanisms for reducing health inequalities will be identified. The research is conducted in collaboration with WECR (Wageningen UR) and the Verwey-Jonker Institute.
