Eva Kontopodi has a Master of Science in Applied Nutrition and Dietetics – Specialization in Nutrition and Public Health (Harokopio University of Athens) and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). As a research assistant at the National Food Institute (DTU Fødevareinstituttet) in Denmark, she focused on assessing the prevalence of nutrient inadequacy in individuals and groups. As a guest researcher at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, she participated at the UBERRUP study (Physiological factors that determine/influence the ability to maintain lifestyle changes and weight loss after a 12- 14 weeks intensive lifestyle course) and the "type 2-diabetes in a country in transiton" study. Currently, she is PhD student at the Academic Medical Center (AMC, Amsterdam). As a guest PhD student in Wageningen University, her research is focused in the alternative methods of pasteurization for human milk preservation.
