I was born and raised in the north-west of the Netherlands. I studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Twente where I received my MSc. degree, cum laude, in June 2013. After my studies I obtained my PhD at Delft University of Technology within the Novel Aerospace Materials group at the faculty of Aerospace Engineering on the topic of self-healing polymers and composites. Since 2018 I am working as a researcher and project leader within the BBP group at WUR on the development and processing of new biobased and biodegradable polymers and their applications. My work focusses on the use of polymer additives to introduce new functionalities within renewable materials and the development of thermoset polymers with an inherent recyclability.
