Timothy is a former Erasmus Mundus Scholar, the IMRD programme coordinated by Ghent University. His research focus is on creating spaces for entreprenurial experimentation in inclusive agri-business models. The research is part of a broader study called Organising business models for SMAllholder REsilience (OSMARE) operating in East and Southern Africa. In collaboration with ICRAF, LUANAR (Malawi), VUNA (South Africa) and Zimbabwe Super Seeds (Zimbabwe); and funded by NWO (Dutch national research institute) in cooperation with CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), OSMARE aims to define how the organizational structures of thirteen selected business models in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Tanzania stimulate smallholder resilience to market, social and environmental shocks through Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA)-related incentives.
Timothy has academic background in Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Economics and Integrated Rural Development. His vision is to bring an understanding of the notion of entrepreneurship in new forms of organisations.
