Alexia's expertise is in WTO law and risk regulation with special focus on food safety and the WTO's Agreement on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures. She also has expertise in the GATT, the Technial Barriers to Trade Agreement as they apply to other non-trade policies such as human rights, animal welfare, consumer information labeling, climate change and energy regulation. Her expertise also covers international investment law, public international law, EU internal market law and Kantian, Rawlsian and Habermasian legal and political theory. She has published in journals in international law, international law and legal theory. Prior to joining Wageningen, Alexia held lectureship and post-doc positions at the University of Antwerp and the University of Bremen. She earned a JSD and LLM from NYU School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Government and Law from the LSE.
