Md. Latiful Haque is a sandwich Ph.D. at Environmental Policy Group. His Ph.D. project is about effective policy and strategies to transform the food system towards healthier diets. He focuses on food safety concerns about the market-sourced food among the poor migrants in the city. His research extends to understand the shopping practice of the slum dwellers and how they are dealing with the concerns in light of urban lifestyle and rural-urban migration.
Latiful holds MSc in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Before the ongoing Ph.D. on Consumption Sociology, he worked for over 9 years in three national and international research organizations in Bangladesh. He developed his interest in research on food policy while working as a Research Analyst in International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).
