Dr. Solmaria Halleck Vega is currently an Assistant Professor at the Urban Economics group, Wageningen University in the Netherlands. She is also affiliated with the Land, Environment, Economics and Policy Institute, University of Exeter Business School in the UK. Her research interests include applied and spatial econometrics, climate change, environmental economics, labor economics, networks, and spatial economics.
From 2016-2018, Dr. Halleck Vega was a Research Fellow at the Paris School of Economics. During that time, she formed part of the international and interdisciplinary EU Horizon 2020 Green-Win consortium on climate change actions and sustainable development, and was also Co-Director of the Gender and Ethics Committee.
Prior to this, she was in the Netherlands where she received her Research Master (MSc, cum laude) and PhD (nominated for Best Dissertation Award 2016 by the Graduate School) supervised by Prof.dr. J. Paul Elhorst from the Department of Economics, Econometrics and Finance, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen.
