I am was born in Beirut, Lebanon, where I received my BS degree in biology in 2008 from the Lebanese University. I acquired my MS degree in 2011, at the same university, after finishing a short experimental stay at the University of Poitiers, France.
I then joined the Polytechnic Univeristy of Valencia, Spain, starting a PhD thesis on abiotic stress in plants. I graduated in 2016 with maximum grades. I then moved to New Zealand to work as a postdoctoral scientist at the Institute for Plant and Food Research Ltd. (PFR) for two years, investigating the importance of starch turnover in the ovaries on flowering and reproductive success, before joining the University of Wageningen in July 2019.
