My name is Tiantong Zhao and I was born on 23th Dec 1995 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province,China which is at the same latitude as Amsterdam and called the Ice City. Thanks to my hometown which is known as China's granary, I formed a strong interest on food, especially on food quality and safety. Gratefully, I will start my PhD study in WUR in November under the supervision of Saskia van Ruth.

Majoring in food quality and safety, I got my bachelor degree in Northeast Agricultural University in 2017. My master research is about reducing the harmful effect of spores on the quality of agricultural products. Our primary purpose is promoting the germination of spores firstly and then killing them by imposing high pressure and synergistic germination factors. I got my master degree in China Agricultural University in June.

My PhD project is to develop a game combining with analytical tests to detect the tendency of dishonest behavior in food supply chains. Specifically, applying this game in 2-3 supply chains, we compare test results with fraud prevalence in those chains to analyze how the tendency of dishonest behavior is reflected in fraud prevalence. Methodology remains to be further discussed.
