Robert has a background in political science and international relations, with a specific focus on critical political economy and global governance. Originally from Norway, he has a master`s degree in political science from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Before joining Wageningen University he was a research fellow in the department for Science Communication & Society at Leiden University where he focused on the culture of public engagement at Dutch research institutions.

Robert is involved in the new ‘TRANSGOV’ research project, under Prof. Dr. Aarti Gupta. At the ENP, he will investigate the relationship between transparency, accountability and trust in the context of the United Nations Climate Change Convention, and examine how this relationship is affected by an increased reliance on novel technologies such as Big Data and Blockchain for generating radical transparency in the climate/land-use sector.

In addition to Aarti Gupta, he collaborates with Ina Möller, Sanneke Kloppenburg and Susanne Konrad under the TRANSGOV project.
