Julia holds a doctorate in agricultural economics from the Justus Liebig University (JLU) Giessen, Germany. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and visiting researcher at the Swedish Agricultural University in Uppsala, Sweden. She conducts research in the fields of behavioural economics, cooperatives and sustainability.
