Biography

I am a PhD researcher at the Public administration and Policy group. The coming years my work will focus on the governance of climate adaptation and health in rural areas of the Netherlands. Before, I worked as a teacher at the Institute of Public Administration of Leiden University. Here, I was mainly involved in courses on qualitative and quantitative research methods as well as courses on the governance of biodiversity, ecosystems and water. I have completed a BSc Political Science and a MSc Governance of Sustainability at Leiden University.

Projects

Currently, I am involved in the MANTRA (CliMate AdaptatioN for HealThy Rural Areas) project. The aim of this project is to contribute to the sustainable future development of rural areas of the Netherlands by designing climate adaptation measurements and adequate government arrangements. Wageningen University & Research together with researchers from Maastricht University, Radboud University, Leiden University, RIVM, Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL) and Naturalis will join forces with at least fourteen social and public organisations. 't Hogeland, Noord-Oost Brabant and the Ablasserwaard are three regions that will perform as case studies in this project in which rural labs are initiated. My research will specifically focus on desiging governance capabilities and arrangements suited for inclusive, integrative and long-term policy processes.
